I've been having meals (breakfast and lunch) at Café Frank for the past two years. The food is excellent. The mains vary daily and there is a variety of items to choose, with nice combinations of salads and other items. The coffee selection, wines and beers are also very appealing.

I have been going to cafe frank for about 8 years every day ( sometimes twice a day !)
I have consistently received great food and friendly service . The best eggs in town hands down ! What I appreciate about franks is that they are a community minded business and also only serve ethically sourced products. Brilliant delivery service as well for those having launch at the office .

After coming here for YEARS, i was on a phone call and another patron shouted at me, quite literally raised her voice to tell me that i need to take my call outside - i was a bit shocked as i had no idea what she meant , i instantly apologised if i was too loud… she then SLAMMED and i mean slammed the sign onto my table that said something about not taking calls inside to which i politely said “ im so sorry i didnt know that was rule here “ , she mumbled something and walked out. I have been coming to cafe frank for years where I’ve sat next to people who have had zoom calls, phone calls and full on team meetings - it was never addressed by staff and no one was ever asked to tone it down or take a call outside. The issue i have is NOT the lady who was clearly having a bad day and felt that was the most appropriate way to go about the phone call, the sad part was the staff. ANYONE of the team members could have tapped me on the shoulder and simply told me about the rule , i would have more than happily said sorry and ended my call or taken it outside, they could have even said a genuine “mam, please read the sign” or something that was just the good standard service which we have always received there. The fact that they didn’t apologise to me or just check in and say “sorry about that mam, in the future - we do ask patrons to take calls outside” , or say anything to the lady who shouted is what’s causing this review. What was such a lovely cafe that we would frequently go to for breakfast has now left such a bitter taste in my mouth and we unfortunately will not be getting our breakfast there. There are a few faces that we see a lot behind the counter and for some reason on this day, the two ladies we know were not there (either off or just out, I’m not sure). We are in the service industry ourselves so we do understand difficult patrons but I wouldn’t be leaving this review if I wasn’t completely disappointed. Hopefully other frequent patrons are looked after better in the future.

🥗 They offer a set menu, daily specials, and even a rotating lunch buffet. I went for the buffet and it did not disappoint!
• Rotisserie chicken: juicy and perfectly cooked 🍗
• Coronation potato salad & coleslaw: fresh, flavorful, and comforting 🥔🥗

It honestly felt like a foodie version of “home away from home.”

🍊 For dessert, I tried the marmalade slice — and wow. It literally tasted like Christmas in a bite. The tangy marmalade on the side was the perfect touch.

If you’re ever in Cape Town, Cafe Frank is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m here! 🙌

Definitively the best catering in Cape Town! They catered my boyfriend’s birthday brunch and it was exceptional. Also my absolute favourite cafe in Cape Town. Well-priced, consistent, conveniently located, friendly staff, cosy environment—all of it is perfect. I come here at least 4 times a week. Highly recommend their breakfast special or Bircher bowl!

Cafe Frank catered my birthday party, and it was the tastiest and most beautiful set of platters I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

I also have breakfast at the cafe most days of the week. I cannot recommend this place enough. 10/5 stars

Quaint cafe serving meals including breakfast in an open vintage styled non air conditioned atmosphere. Close to my hotel, I popped in seeking a vegetarian breakfast. They have a variety of options for meat lovers but also offer muesli, granola, and fruits too. I chose the cranberry granola with yoghurt and honey. Nice filling portion with silky smooth yoghurt. The main focus, as always, was the coffee. Ordered a cafe latte, and it tasted quite good in an impressively large cup. Cost me ZAR 113 for both and a filling start to my day.

My absolute favourite place for delicious coffee or lunch in the city. Healthy, yummy salads and the phyllo pastry pies are my best. Also, the soups in winter. And very affordable.

Rude staff and mean portions I left starving . No internet to order an Uber . A place to avoid. Expensive with no reason . They wanted to charge my water bottle to take away. Si they can reuse them .

I am a regular at Cafe Frank and the food is of a consistently high standard.
Besides the regular items on the menu, it is the meals chalked up daily on a board featuring tasty soups, main meals, salad bowls that provide variety. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. I had a Malaysian dhal and Hungarian goulash soup - outstanding. The dhal was so good that I ordered an additional portion to take home!
The service is excellent and the atmosphere casual and easygoing.
Very nice coffee. I think sandwich was a bit too pricy, and not special. I should have gotten lunch meal. A main and one side. That looked very tasty.
